Political Advocacy on FOPL for better health of children, youths and mothers

Visit to Delhi for meeting with MPs, political parties and politicians in Delhi from 8 December, 2021 to 14 December, 2021. The memorandum along with the supportive documents was handed over and requested to take this issue with the Ministry of Health and Family welfare for making strong FOPL mandatory following the WHO guideline in the context of child and women health.

1.          On 8 December, 2021 Mr. Abhimanyu Pratap met with Dr. Aseervatham Achary, National Coordinator of Documentation & Library Department, Bhartiya Janta Party.


2.          On 9 December, 2021 Ms. Shirin Shabana Khan and Mr. Abhimanyu Pratap met with Shri Jayant Chaudhray, Former Member of Parliament, Loksabha & National President Rashtriya Lok Dal.

3.          On 10 December, 2021 Dr. Lenin Raghuvanshi, Shirin Shabana Khan and Abhimayu Pratap met with Shri Sachin Rao AICC – Incharge Sandesh & Training Indian National Congress. The delegation handed him the memorandum and also letter to Mrs. Sonia Gandhi, Chairperson, AICC.


4.           On 10 December, 2021 Ms. Shirin Shabana Khan and Mr. Abhimanyu Pratap met Mr. Jai Prakash Rawat, Member of Parliament , Hardoi Loksabha, Bhartiya Janta Party.


 5.          On 10 December, 2021 Ms. Shirin Shabana Khan and Mr. Abhimanyu Pratap met Dr. Ashok Vajpayi, Member of Parliament Rajyasabha & Former Cabinet Minister , Govt.of U.P,  Bhartiya Janta Party.


6.          On 11 December, 2021 Dr. Lenin Raghuvanshi, Shirin Shabana Khan and Abhimayu Pratap met Shri Ashok Thakur, Director (Appointed by Govt.of India) National Agriculture Cooperative Marketing Federation of India & Senior Leader, Bhartiya Janta Party.


7.          On 13 December, 2021 again Ms. Shirin Shabana Khan and Mr. Abhimanyu Pratap met with Dr. Ashok Vajpayi, Member of Parliament Rajyasabha & Former Cabinet Minister , Govt.of U.P,  Bhartiya Janta Party for sharing the documents in Hindi and again discussing double burden of malnutrition.


8.          On 13 December, 2021 Ms. Shirin Shabana Khan and Mr. Abhimanyu Pratap met with Balwant Singh Raamowalia, MLC , U.P Legislative Council & Former Cabinet Minister Govt. of U.P Samajwadi Party.


9.          On 13 December, 2021 Ms. Shirin Shabana Khan and Mr. Abhimanyu Pratap met with Shri Sushil Kumar, National Office In-charge, Bahujan Samaj Party, Mr. Krishna Pal Yadav, National Office In-charge Samajwadi Party and Comrade Nilotpal Basu National Office In-charge, Communist Party of India (Marxist) .

10.     On 13 December, 2021 Ms. Shirin Shabana Khan and Mr. Abhimanyu Pratap met with Comrade D. Raja Former M.P Rajyasabha & Secretary General Communist Party of India


11.     On 14 December, 2021 Dr. Lenin Raghuvanshi, Shirin Shabana Khan and Abhimayu Pratap met with Shri Ramdas Athawale, Union Minister of State , Government of India & National President, Republican Party of India ( Athawale )

Patna Declaration: Uniting Political Parties for Children's Health

  On February 7, 2024, in Patna , a significant public dialogue took place at the Kasturba Gandhi Assembly Hall within the premises of the Gandhi Museum. The event, which saw participation from 85 individuals, was organized by a coalition consisting of the Peoples’ Vigilance Committee on Human Rights (PVCHR), People’s Initiative for Participatory Action for Food Labelling (PIPAL), All India Hawkers Forum, Bandi Adhikar Andolan, and Indian Roti Bank.
