This is with reference to your Grievance Petition No. PMOPG/D/2021/0234611 dated 24/09/2021.
Your suggestions are welcome and have been noted.
I am directed to inform that FSSAI had drafted notified the FOPL provisions under the draft FSS (Labelling and Display) Regulations. the same was under discussion with various stakeholders including industry associations and consumer organisations . Subsequently, FSSAI has signed an MOU with IIM - Ahmedabad to undertake a survey based study on evaluation of FOPL choices among Indian population . The findings of the survey are awaited.
Besides, for school children , FSSAI has notified Food Safety and Standards (Safe food and balanced diets for children in school) Regulations in order to ensure availability of balanced and healthy diets for school children.
