On 16th May 2022, a national dialogue was organized in the presence of distinguished guests from all the sectors including media, political organisations, civil societies, business-owners and other community leaders at Gandhi Peace Foundation, Delhi. Everyone gathered to initiate a discussion on the issue of Packaged food and its harsh consequences on children.

The Business session was moderated by Mr. Abhishek Pratap, Advisor, GHAI in which Mr. Girish Gupta, President, All India Food Welfare Association, Delhi, Mr. Shailendra Dubey, Akhil Bhartiya Grahak Panchayat, New Delhi, Mr. Rohit Mohan, MD, Essar Bakery, Bhubaneswar, Odisha, Mr. Fakir Shau, MD, Demenbai Farmers Producer Company Limited and Mr. Ashish Bhati, National General Secretary, Bhartiya Vyapar Mandal  shared their views and came to a consensus on a timeline to process this  structure so that businesses can follow and also, if there will be some parameter on salt, fat and sugar so then they will try to follow the parameter on manufacturing of package food.

The prevalence of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) in India has reached alarming levels, posing a severe public health crisis. Recent data and studies highlight the urgent need for effective measures to combat these diseases. The Grim Statistics NCD Mortality : Nearly 58 lakh people in India die from NCDs each year out of nearly 90 lakh overall deaths. Childhood Nutrition and Obesity : According to the National Family Health Survey (NFHS-5-2021), under-nutrition in children remains stagnant, with one in three children affected. Simultaneously, obesity is on the rise among children under five years old.
